REQUESTING AN EXHIBITION

For DAP Students and Faculty:
If you are not affiliated with the Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance, please refer to our EXHIBITION PROPOSAL page.

The exhibition schedule for the academic year is determined by March of the following year. For example, the schedule for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 is determined by March 2021. Requests for exhibition space should be made as soon as possible. The Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries are a teaching and learning space for the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance. As such, priority is given to exhibition requests by students and faculty of the Rueff School.

To request gallery space in the Rueff Galleries, please contact Purdue Galleries with the following information.

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Exhibition Description
  • DAP course or area (affiliation)
  • Is this exhibition affiliated with a DAP course or club?
  • When would you like to exhibit?
  • Which gallery would you prefer?

While all efforts will be made to accommodate requests, assignments cannot be guaranteed due to certain space and time limitations. Requests will be processed in the order that they are received. Once gallery assignments have been made, artists will be provided with an exhibition agreement including terms of use.

For non-DAP Artists:

Each semester usually offers a few weeks that can be used to exhibit work from outside the Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance. When selecting work from outside the school, the Rueff Galleries looks for exhibitions that express perspectives that are national and international in scope, contributing to and expanding upon the work happening within our studio classrooms. All exhibitions by outside artists must be sponsored (spoken for) by a faculty member affiliated with the Rueff School.  If you have an exhibition you would like to propose for exhibit in the Rueff Galleries, please submit the following:

  • A cover letter describing the proposed exhibition, any special installation requirements, and available dates for exhibit.
  • An artists resume/vita and professional exhibition record.
  • 10 - 20 digital images representative of work and accompanying text listing of the images, including title, media, dimensions, and date of completion.
  • A letter of support from a faculty member affiliated with the Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance.

Proposals can be sent via email to galleries@purdue.edu or mailed to:

DETERMINING THE EXHIBITION SCHEDULE

Purdue Galleries will fill the schedule based on exhibition requests. Requests will be processed in the order that they are received, with preference given to those received by October 1. Once the schedule has been determined, the exhibition team will meet with a DAP faculty committee to approve the schedule.
